Grafikmagazin (Ex-Novum – World Of Graphic Design): Stereohype Button Badge Design Competition – Jedes Jahr ruft das Londoner Designstudio Stereohype einen Designwettbewerb für Buttons aus und das schon seit 2004. Erstaunlicherweise gehen Gestaltern aus aller Welt die Ideen nicht aus, um das kleine runde Format auf immer neue Weise zu bespielen. Nun stehen die Gewinner des diesjährigen Wettbewerbs fest. Anke Weckmann sicherte sich den ersten Preis in der Kategorie »Einzelmotiv«, Bori Vajda gewann in der Katergorie »Set of 4«. Aber natürlich sind auch die vielen anderen Motive sehr sehenswert. Zu kaufen gibt es die Buttons bei Stereohype, ausserdem Fine Art Prints der Motive. stereohype.com

Against all odds, we did it again this year: The squirrel is out of the bag – here come the new Stereohype goodies... This year's 30 winning badges have just been released. Congratulations to all runners-up and winners. Thanks so much to the many judges – current and past – for all their help and a big THANK YOU to all the participants and supporters for the huge interest in our competition. Judging for our 16th annual Button Badge Design Competition is in full swing at the moment. Our 25-strong jury is scrutinising over 600 entries from around the world. A total of 30 winning designs are currently due to be announced and released in November. Thank you very much for your support and interest. Some really great designs again this year.

NEW EXTENDED DEADLINE: 28 September 2020
In the last few years we always launched our call for entries to our annual badge contest around the April / May mark. Due to moving house and studio – and the pandemic, we have this year only managed to launch the design competition in August. Tonight we caved in. We cracked. We got wobbly knees – there are simply not enough submissions in yet. The vast majority is always being submitted in the last few days before the deadline – regardless of when exactly we launch the call for entries.
This year however, submissions are not pouring in at a fast enough rate to prevent us from being nervous. We therefore decided to extend the call for entries for one week until the end of 28 September. Thank you to all the participants who already sent in their entries!

After months of chaos, that included moving our studio within London, our website server migration to a better website host, hard work on #SaveTheStereohypeSquirrel – oh – and that global pandemic of course, we are today finally opening our virtual doors again to graphic art lovers around the world. Getting there... Vitsoe (and Bisley) galore! The installers just left. Re-used and extended Vitsoe 606 System for our new spaces in London’s Barnsbury (Islington, N1). There is more Vitsoe next door. Plenty of space for our 100000000 books, vinyl and knick knacks that any self-respecting graphic designers would hunt and gather over the years...
Do you see the Bisley units with lots and lots of drawers on the right? These contain approximately 40,000 button badge samples from our collection. Updates to follow.

What a few last weeks... We moved from Clerkenwell to London’s beautiful Barnsbury, N1. This was a snapshot of the first of many packed vans. Mountains of boxes have been shifted from A to B and back, and we are now heading to a well-deserved break after all these locked down months. Our server and shopping system are being upgraded for a fresh new start in September. We’ll then also try our best to somehow organise a super-speedy edition of our annual button badge design competition. Please stay tuned and may the sun shine on all of us!

FL@33 / Stereohype goes penthouse (for a bit). In between houses for a few weeks: our move from London's Clerkenwell via Southwark, just behind Tate Modern, to beautiful Barnsbury.

We are over the moon that our FL@33-designed Stereohype certification seal, embossed into our Button Badge Motif Prints, is featured in the new book Modern Heraldry: Volume 2 by Counter-Print Books.
The type was set with a thinner weight so that it looks just right when pressed through the 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper of the fine art prints. The D-pin and back of badge is life-sized – like the original 25mm/1" Stereohype badges. Project info at flat33.com.

Good news! Stereohype update: we now have piles and piles of stamps and can dispatch all stocked items faster again! Our local post office is closed during the UK lockdown but we are open for business and will be jogging to the post box at the end of the street whenever we need... A great excuse to leave the house. Happy browsing for lockdown essentials and gifts for friends and family.
Please note that many of our graphic art prints are printed on demand. We have a lot of them in stock – ready to ship – but please do check availability of prints by emailing us, if it is urgent, as we can currently unfortunately not produce new prints during the UK lockdown.
