Matthias Hillner, Matthias & Helen, Helen Bowling

Matthias Hillner was born in Germany, where he trained first in photography, then in visual design. He received his MA in communication art and design from the Royal College of Art in London in 2001, and his MPhil in the same subject in 2007. Having worked for various design agencies in London, Matthias founded his Studio for Virtual Typography in 2005. This business development was supported by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and the National Film and Television School in Britain. Matthias also works as a senior lecturer in graphic design at the University of Hertfordshire in England.
