Selected international designers, illustrators and artists are regularly invited to submit designs for this one-inch (25 mm) button badge series. Since 2004, the FL@33 / Tomi Vollauschek-curated B.I.O. (By Invitation Only) Series have been infrequent events, but in 2012 the B.I.O. Series 12 release finally caught up with the years. From then until 2022, B.I.O. badges were released annually, with B.I.O. Series 22 appearing that year.

A subsequent pause was followed by a refreshed approach to the series. Invitations for B.I.O. Series 23 were sent out in 2026, and B.I.O. 26 will be released later this year.
