FL@33, the multi-disciplinary design studio founded in 2001, launched its sister company Stereohype in October 2004. Originally set up in London, Stereohype has grown from an experimental platform for creative exploration into an international graphic art label and online boutique that supports both emerging and established talents. Today, both FL@33 and Stereohype are run and led by co-founder and Creative Director Tomi Vollauschek, an internationally acclaimed designer and educator with over 20 years of experience.

Following a longer hiatus and restructuring phase, Stereohype is now operating again with orders generally shipped from our EU / France-based warehouse. To avoid Brexit-related shenanigans, larger orders to UK stockists can also be shipped directly from our UK-based badge maker. For stockists, galleries and shops, please also see our wholesale information page.

Over 1,750 button badges by more than 650 contributors

Stereohype's popular product range includes hundreds of beautifully printed graphic art prints and an ever-growing button badge collection. Stereohype also offers artist and themed button badge gift boxes, books, exclusively commissioned artworks, wall art, limited editions and rare one-off products, a mix of hand-picked goodies by designers and artists from around the world. The focus is on fresh yet timeless, innovative and inspirational works. Stereohype products are available worldwide via stereohype.com and carefully selected, international stockists.

Two independent button badge initiatives

Stereohype's ever-growing button badge collection is shaped by two complementary and independent design initiatives. One is the open-call Stereohype Button Badge Design Competition, which regularly invites submissions from designers, illustrators, photographers and artists worldwide. The other is the FL@33 / Tomi Vollauschek-curated B.I.O. (By Invitation Only) Button Badge Series, which brings together favourite fresh talents and established greats by personal invitation. Competition winners and B.I.O. contributors share the same circular mobile canvas, the one inch (25mm) button badge... 8)

Selected badge motifs are also later released as part of the growing Button Badge Motif Print series. Contributors whose work is chosen for this circular Fine Art Giclée Print edition are contacted personally, invited separately and paid royalties for each sold print.

10th anniversary: Stereohype 2004–2014

Stereohype 2004–2014 anniversary exhibition, LondonStereohype celebrated its 10th anniversary in style with a large retrospective exhibition as part of the London Design Festival, hosted by London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. The popular show was extended and ran for a whopping eight weeks. It was aptly titled Stereohype 2004–2014, as was the FL@33-designed anniversary book published for the occasion. It featured specially commissioned posters, button badges, various Stereohype projects and the entire button badge collection, which reached the magical number of 1,000 individual designs at the time, created by over 300 contributors. The exhibition catalogue, posters and anniversary products are available here. The badge collection has since grown far beyond that milestone and is now slowly but surely working its way towards the 2,000 mark.
