All Stereohype button badges available at stereohype.com are classic high quality one inch (25mm) metal back badges with so-called D-pin. Tiny stickers at the back mention the artist, release date, series number, etc. The growing collection of these mobile mini canvases – featuring over 1,700 individual designs by over 600 international graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and artists – consists of all B.I.O. (By Invitation Only) contributions, winners of Stereohype's annual button badge design competition and additional series such as the special collaborations: AFOMFS Series, MICA Series, 10x10 Series and Emoji Series. Badges are manufactured in the United Kingdom.
The collage "Seers" has at its centre two young girls envisioning a possible future for a devastated planet, incorporating ideas such as environmental destruction, hope in a new generation, the importance of girls and womyn (of all colour), the power of dreams and visions, death and renewal, the connection of all things, the universe and our place in it. The badges include the centre image and a few details that play on the idea of seeing: a rearview mirror, an eye-shaped assembly of half moons, the transformation of bones by luminous clouds.
Born and raised in Germany, Lea Wülferth has been living in Brooklyn, NY since 2009, writing and making art under her own name and the pseudonym L Peregrine. She regularly explores themes of freedom, identity, memory, and truth(s) on a personal and socio-political level across different media. Recently she has been experimenting with photography, printmaking and mixed media, often incorporating words into her work and pushing toward surrealism and abstraction.
