Artist

Sarah Jacoby originally hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Haverford College and studied literature and film, but always practiced art between reading novels. In 2014 she graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art where she studied MFA Illustration Practice. She works both digitally and with real life materials and has a penchant for watercolors and printmaking. Her work explores curiosity and wonder, but is rooted by the things that make us human and our commonplace dilemmas. She is drawn to organic shapes and beings and use these forms as the foundation of her work. Sarah’s ideas rarely express logic, they tend to be whimsical and abstract in nature. She uses watercolor and ink most often to express this fluidity of idea making and to engage an audience’s sense of curiosity.
