Born in 1967, this decorative arts graduate has had a highly successful career mainly linked to the electro culture. Geneviève Gauckler started out by designing album covers for F Communications before leaving for London. There she turned her attention to interactive design, joined the boo.com start-up, and worked with Me Company. On her return to France, she joined the Pleix group where her mandalas came to life and had fun. Having a declared taste for simple and colourful shapes, she is into everything and never ceases to marvel, handling and creating images and shapes with dexterity and innocence. Always abreast of the fashions in graphics, Geneviève Gauckler has carved a sure path for herself through the various circles of hype: designing CD covers for Björk and Dimitri >From Paris, doing a video for Pierre Henry and creating the graphic world of Brigitte Fontaine's 'Kekeland', she has managed to develop, renew and use her own visual language. Her world is one that is amusing, optimistic, lively, happy, surprising and offbeat.
