Selected international designers, illustrators and artists have been invited to submit one to four designs for this one inch (25mm) button badge series. Stereohype sells 'B.I.O. series 1' badges separately and gives them away as a free surprise badge with purchased stereohype T-shirts. The 'B.I.O. series 1' includes artworks by Alice Brun-Ney, Ange Hayward @ Danger UK, Daniel Koh @ Amateur Provokateur, Elisabeth Lecourt, FL@33, Fred Frei, Happypets, Jody Barton, Marie O'Connor @ Peepshow, Megumu Kasuga @ YiELD, Michael C. Place @ Build, Tom Gauld, Patrick Duffy and Yorgo Tloupas @ Intersection magazine. Released: November 2004.

Michael C. Place is a graphic designer & typographer. After graduating from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1990, he went on to work for Trevor Jacksons' Bite It! studio, followed by Sheffield-based The Designers Republic. He took a brief detour to MeCompany (London), but soon returned to tDR where continued to work with a broad base of clients including Warp Records, Sony Computer Entertainment (Wipeout/Playstation series) and Sadar & Vuga Architects. After working a total of around 10 years at The Designers Republic, Michael decided to set up his own studio, so after a 10month stint travelling, he returned to London in 2001 to set up Build with his wife Nicola. Recent Build clients have included Sony, Nike, Lego, Computerlove & CMP (publishing), as well as an array of smaller clients & personal projects. Build prides itself on its craft-based approach to print. Build print with love.
